When I inherited my father's bakery, I knew that I wanted to make a few tiny changes. I updated the menu slightly and focused more on improving the storefront, but for some reason the money still wasn't pouring in. I realized that if I really wanted to make things better, I needed to reevaluate the business model in general. I started evaluating our labor costs, thinking about our overhead expenses, and calculating shrink. After making some significant changes, things improved dramatically. My blog is for other bakery owners who might be thinking about making some changes to improve their overall business.
